Privacy Policy

Fast Free ("we", "us", "our", or "the app") is developed by HypedUpApps. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Fast Free is a local-first app. The majority of your data is stored on your device using SQLite and never leaves your phone. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use the app.

1a. Data Stored Locally (On-Device Only)

  • Check-in data: Daily check-ins, streaks, health scores, points, multipliers, and meal logs.
  • Calorie & nutrition tracking: Calorie goals, macronutrient data, and food entries.
  • App preferences: Settings, onboarding status, and notification preferences.

This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.

1b. Data Transmitted to Third Parties

  • AI food analysis (Google Gemini API): When you use the AI food scan feature, food photos and text descriptions are sent to Google's servers for calorie estimation. Photos and data are processed in real-time and are not stored by us or Google after analysis is complete. This feature is optional and only activates when you choose to scan food.
  • Analytics (PostHog): We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. This includes a randomly generated device identifier (not linked to your identity), app events such as check-ins, screen views, and feature usage. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any personally identifiable information through analytics.
  • Subscription management (RevenueCat): If you subscribe to premium features, RevenueCat manages your subscription status using an anonymous app user ID. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.

1c. Apple HealthKit Data

With your explicit permission, Fast Free may read and write data from Apple Health, including weight, active energy, and nutritional data. HealthKit data is used solely to personalize your calorie goals and display health correlations within the app. We do not transmit HealthKit data to any third party, including our analytics or advertising services. HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.

1d. Device Permissions

  • Camera: Used only for scanning food and nutrition labels. Photos are processed and not stored permanently.
  • Photo Library: Used only when you choose to upload a food image for AI analysis.
  • Notifications: Used for daily check-in reminders and streak notifications. All notifications are generated locally on your device. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
  • Speech Recognition: Used optionally for voice-based food logging. Audio is processed by Apple's on-device speech recognition and is not transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require an account or login
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
  • We do not track your location
  • We do not sell or share data with advertisers
  • We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing
  • We do not use tracking technologies such as cookies or fingerprinting

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the core app functionality (check-ins, streaks, scores)
  • To estimate calories using AI when you opt to scan food
  • To personalize calorie goals using HealthKit data (with your permission)
  • To send local notification reminders (with your permission)
  • To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the app
  • To manage subscription status for premium features

4. Data Retention & Deletion

All local data is stored on your device for as long as the app is installed. To delete all your data, simply delete the Fast Free app from your device. This will permanently remove all check-ins, streaks, meal logs, and preferences.

Anonymous analytics data collected by PostHog is retained for up to 12 months and cannot be linked back to you or your device.

Fast Free is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal information or require accounts, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete from our systems. All user data is stored locally on your device and is fully under your control. You can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the app.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
